Who was JEB Stuart? James Ewell Brown Stuart got the nickname JEB from his initials. He was a striking figure in the Confederate army usually wearing a red-lined gray cape, yellow sash, hat cocked to the side with an ostrich plume, red flower in his lapel, and often wore cologne. He was the trusted "eyes and ears" of General Lee's army.
