Carya myristiciformis (Nutmeg Hickory)
Rarest species of hickory. Native to North Carolina. Blooms in early spring. Undersides of leaves have silvery-golden colored scales. The nuts are rounded and resemble nutmeg, hence the name.

    The little tree arrived perfectly packed, densely leaved, and moist. It is doing as well as I could imagine.
