Just planted this
I just planted this in my backyard. I live in MD, so I hope it is of the variety asteriscus. It is for the non-existent butterflies that we have now. Everything here is mono-culture (grass) .
Silphium astericus (Starry Rosinweed) 3 ft. tall, great butterfly nectar plant. Specifically attracts swallowtail butterflies honeybees and many other pollinators. Nice yellow flowers July through September. Basal leaves very rough to the touch. Full sun; well drained or sandy soils.
1gallon
Zone 5?-9
