Torreya taxifolia (Florida Torreya) reaches 30-40ft. Endangered evergreen conifer that has stiff dark green needle-like leaves. Female plants have green - dark purple fruit that ripen in the fall. Florida Torreya can be found in the Florida Panhandle and in southern Georgia (just north of the Florida line) along the Appalachicola River. The species is considered endangered because it has been affected by a fungal disease that has wiped out a lot of the population. We will be offering known females and males in the near future.

Since Florida Torreya is on the endangered list, we are only certified to ship these plants to Florida and North Carolina. Orders from other states will be notified and refunded.

    Restore this plant!!!

I’ve seen these in the wild some but didn’t know they were endangered. I’m glad to have one to bring into our property and hopefully propagate a few.

    Consistently Reliable and Healthy Plants!

Posted by John on Nov 14th 2020

My plants consistently arrive in surprisingly healthy condition. (especially for Torreya taxifolia which is almost extinct in the wild due to diseases). The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgable and always willing to help out/assist. Easily one of the best online nurseries available in USA. Highly recommend!
